What you get

How the engagement rate is calculated

  • TikTok and Instagram

Average likes plus comments per recent post, divided by followers. Up to 30 TikTok videos or 12 Instagram posts are read.

  • YouTube

YouTube listings show views, not likes, so engagement is average views of recent videos divided by subscribers.

  • Posting frequency

Posts per week across the span the recent posts cover, and the date of the last one.

  • Recent posts

Each recent post with its views, likes and comments, linked, so you can see what does well.

What it costs

Engagement rate calculator pricing

One creator costs $0.02 to $0.03. The software is free. You pay the data provider for the lookups a search runs, from your own key, under a monthly limit you set. A YouTube handle is looked up first ($0.01); a channel ID skips that step.

How pricing works

Search data

Start with $5 of free search data

Creator, Google Maps and search data in OpenReach comes from YepAPI. Sign up there and new accounts get $5 in free credit, for a limited time. That is enough to try every tool before you spend anything.

  1. 1

    Sign up at YepAPI

New accounts get $5 in free credit, for a limited time.

  2. 2

    Copy your API key

It is on your YepAPI dashboard once you sign in.

Engagement rate calculator FAQ

How is the engagement rate worked out?

On TikTok and Instagram it is the average likes plus comments of a creator’s recent posts, divided by their followers. On YouTube, where listings show views and not likes, it is the average views of recent videos divided by subscribers. Both are shown as a percentage.

Where do the contact details come from?

Only from what creators publish: emails and phone numbers written in their bio, their link in bio, and the links on their profile. YouTube shows whether a channel has a business email; the address itself sits behind a CAPTCHA on YouTube, so OpenReach tells you it exists and where to find it.

Do I need a project?

No. Every tool works on its own. When a result is worth keeping, save it to a project in one click: creators and leads get an outreach status, notes and tags, and monitors check for new mentions on a schedule.

Does OpenReach post, comment or send messages for me?

No. OpenReach finds people, businesses and conversations and keeps them organised. You reach out yourself, in your own words. That keeps your accounts safe and your outreach honest.
