What you get

Brand mentions across communities

  • Only real mentions

A page must contain one of your brand terms to be kept, and you can leave out words that bring noise, such as “jobs”.

  • Where people talk

Mentions are grouped by community, so you see which subreddits, forums and sites talk about you most.

  • Sentiment and replies

Each mention shows its community, author, age, reply count and sentiment. An optional AI check drops namesakes.

  • A feed to work through

Monitors add new pages after each run. Mark what you have replied to and ignore the rest.

How it works

How to use the brand mentions

  1. 1

    Describe what to find

Your brand’s names, or the problem your product solves in a buyer’s words.

  2. 2

    Pick the communities

Reddit, Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Quora, review sites and more. The free ones cost nothing.

  3. 3

    Read and reply

Results are ranked by date or intent. Reply yourself, then mark what you have replied to.

Use it to

Brand monitoring use cases

  • Answer questions about you

Someone asks whether your product does X: reply while the thread is fresh.

  • Catch complaints early

Negative mentions surface in the feed, where you can fix the problem and reply.

  • Collect testimonials

Positive mentions are proof you can ask to quote.

  • Watch competitors

A monitor for a competitor’s name shows where their users talk, and what they wish it did.

What it costs

Brand monitoring pricing

About $0.10 to $0.25 a check. The software is free. You pay the data provider for the lookups a search runs, from your own key, under a monthly limit you set. A daily monitor of one name over the default communities costs a few dollars a month.

Search data

Start with $5 of free search data

Creator, Google Maps and search data in OpenReach comes from YepAPI. Sign up there and new accounts get $5 in free credit, for a limited time. That is enough to try every tool before you spend anything.

  1. 1

    Sign up at YepAPI

New accounts get $5 in free credit, for a limited time.

  2. 2

    Copy your API key

It is on your YepAPI dashboard once you sign in.

  3. 3

    Paste it into OpenReach

During account setup, or later in Settings. Every tool works from there.

The free credit is YepAPI’s limited-time offer and may end. After it, you pay YepAPI per lookup at its price. OpenReach lists every call with its cost and a monthly limit caps what you spend. See pricing

Brand monitoring FAQ

Which communities does it search?

More than 60: Reddit, Quora, Hacker News, GitHub, Stack Overflow and the Stack Exchange sites, DEV, Indie Hackers, Product Hunt, X, LinkedIn, Facebook groups, review sites such as G2, Capterra and Trustpilot, app stores and forums. You pick them per search or per monitor.

How does it search Reddit and Quora?

Through Google search results restricted to each site, and through the free official APIs of Hacker News, GitHub and Stack Exchange. A self-hosted install can also use Reddit’s official API with its own app credentials. OpenReach never works around a site that blocks automated visits.

Does OpenReach post, comment or send messages for me?

No. OpenReach finds people, businesses and conversations and keeps them organised. You reach out yourself, in your own words. That keeps your accounts safe and your outreach honest.
