Nano influencer
What is a nano influencer?
A nano influencer is a creator with fewer than about 10,000 followers. Many are not full-time creators: they post about a hobby, a job or a local scene and know a good share of their audience personally.
Nano influencers are the smallest tier, below micro influencers. They often accept free product or small fees, and their recommendations can feel more like a friend’s than an ad.
Why a nano influencer matters
They are the most affordable way to get genuine posts, and many are happy to create UGC a brand can reuse. They also suit local businesses: a nano creator in one city can reach exactly the people who can visit.
The trade-off is reach and effort. Each creator reaches few people, so brands usually work with many at once, which takes organisation.
